Bolt Induction Heating

Manning's U.S.A. (UK) PLC has developed a method of rapidly removing horizontal joint turbine bolting. This process utilises an inductor placed in the bolt or stud. A medium frequency inductive field sets up a low voltage high current magnetic field within the bolt itself, causing fast heating, a process which allows us to rapidly elongate studs on Turbine components.

Bolt Measuring Service

Ultrasonic bolt load verification ( bolt measuring) from  Manning's U.S.A. (UK) PLC eliminates the guess work in bolt clamping pressure measurement. Ultrasonic verification provides an accurate digital read out of a bolts true load pressure every time. It's internal algorithms compensate for material and tempreture variables, ensuring a consistent load measurement.

Rotor Repairs & Service

One of the most recent applications for induction heating has been to stress relieve turbine rotors once they have been weld repaired. The conventional method has been to construct a temporary furnace around the rotor which involves considerable time and expense. However during heat treatment of these large rotors they must be continuously rotated to avoid the possibility of any bending or distortion taking place in the rotor. The non contact characteristic of induction makes this ideal for this purpose since static coils can be placed around the rotor to induce heat within it.
